The short version: XmasTick does not collect your personal information. There is no account to create and no analytics. The free app shows a few ads, supplied by Google AdMob, and those ads are non-personalised — they are not based on who you are or what you do. Buying Premium removes them. Everything you set up in the app stays on your device.

None. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or location, and the app has no sign-in. We use no analytics software of any kind, and nothing you do in the app is reported back to us. The one exception to “nothing leaves the app” is advertising, described below, which is handled by Google and not by us.

Deleting the app removes all of it.
Backgrounds, music and seasonal content are downloaded from our content servers, which are hosted on GitHub Pages and the jsDelivr content network. Like any request to any website, those services can see the internet address (IP address) your request came from and the file you asked for. We do not attach any identifier of our own to those requests, and we cannot tell one user from another.
The free version of XmasTick shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob. You will see a banner at the bottom of the Games and Music lists, and one full-screen advert after you finish a game. There are no ads on the countdown, the advent calendar or your Christmas trees, and the Mac version has no ads at all.
The ads are non-personalised. We tell Google to treat every request as child-directed, which means the ads shown are chosen by the app and the screen they appear on — not by anything about you, and not by what you have done in other apps. There is no profile of you, and no advertising identifier is used to follow you between apps.
To show an advert at all, Google receives technical information of the kind any website receives when it serves a page: your device's internet address, its type and operating system version, the country it is in, and whether the advert was shown or tapped. Google uses this to deliver the advert, to count it, and to detect fraud. Google's own explanation of this is at business.safety.google/privacy.
In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app asks for your choice before any advert is requested, using Google's consent form. You can change that choice later from the same form.
Buying Premium removes every advert immediately, on every screen, for as long as it is active.
Premium is sold through the App Store and Google Play. Your payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see your card details, billing address, or account information. The app only receives confirmation of whether a purchase is active, and that confirmation is checked on your device.
The widgets read the countdown from a shared storage area on your own device. They do not send anything anywhere.
Reminders are scheduled by your device itself. There is no push server, and we cannot send you a message.
XmasTick is suitable for all ages, and we assume a child may be using it. The app collects no personal information from anyone, so it collects none from children either, and every advert is requested with child-directed treatment: non-personalised, rated suitable for general audiences, and never used to build a profile. We do not knowingly allow advertising that would be inappropriate beside an advent calendar.
We have no data about you to share or sell, and we do not. We are not paid for information about you: our advertising revenue comes from adverts being shown, not from anything Google learns about the person seeing them.
Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to see, correct or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none. If you want the information stored on your device removed, deleting the app does it immediately.
If the app ever starts handling information differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
